Dr. Shruti Paskar, ND

My own healing story began when I decided to leave a career in engineering for a path into natural medicine. However, the morning after I moved to Portland, OR for medical school in 2015, I was struck by the worst headache I had ever had in my life. I visited the ER and later saw several neurologists, functional medicine doctors, naturopathic physicians, chiropractors, Chinese Medicine doctors, and physical therapists. Despite the best efforts of these professionals, the pain persisted and at times was debilitating. It became chronic, leaving me feeling helpless and limited in my options. My choices were surgery, antidepressants instead of opioids, or countless herbs/supplements which became expensive. There were times when I felt we were making progress, but I didn’t respond as expected to most therapies. Everything I had learned about pain pathways from conventional and naturopathic perspectives was not contributing to much progress.

As I graduated from medical school during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, I still found myself without many answers. I eventually sought the help of Shamans and Angelic healers who had conquered their own ailments and was overjoyed to start seeing my symptoms improve more permanently. These experiences were expansive and became my initiation into truly understanding medicine and healing.

Through my personal journey, I came to realize the paramount importance of integrating the mental, emotional, and spiritual aspects of healing alongside physical symptoms. I discovered that every healing modality—whether conventional or natural—has its place in an individual's path to well-being. Moreover, I recognized that the power to heal lies within our own hands. Even without a definitive diagnosis, I experienced a powerful shift in my health and physical symptoms when I embraced this realization.

The archetype of the Wounded Healer, as described by Carl Jung, resonates deeply with my own story. I used to view my illness as a personal failure, but I have come to understand it as my ultimate strength. It is a part of my story that has made me a better healer, coach, counselor, and teacher. Since 2015, it has been my dream to serve the community through health and healing. While my path has been winding and filled with unexpected turns, I am profoundly grateful for the transformative experiences that have led me to this moment—an opportunity to support and guide you on your own healing journey.

Together, we will explore the profound power of your own healing story and unlock the transformative potential that lies within you. It would be an honor to be your ally and guide on this sacred path towards health and wholeness.
